Contributors Usage
Qlty Cloud subscriptions are based on the quantity of active contributors, which are automatically allocated based on usage. With automatic re-assignment, you can focus on your work rather than managing billing.
Summary
- Active contributors are unique users (or bots) who have logged in, pushed commits, or uploaded code coverage data within the last 30 days.
- Contributors are uniquely identified by their GitHub login.
- You can exclude contributors at any time to avoid being billed for them.
How you’re billed
On paid plans, you will need to purchase a subscription quantity based on the number of active contributors in your Qlty Cloud workspace.
Paid
- Human contributors to private GitHub projects
- Bots and GitHub apps
Free
- Contributors to public GitHub projects

When you’ll see credit card charges
Your first credit card charge from Qlty will be on the day you purchase a paid plan. After that, you will be charged monthly on the same day of the month as your initial purchase. Annual plans are charged on the day of purchase and then annually thereafter.
When your subscription is upgraded or quantity is increased during a subscription term, you will be charged immediately for the prorated amount of the new subscription rate. If you downgrade or reduce your quantity, you will receive a credit for the unused portion of the subscription term, which will be applied to your next invoice.
Open source contributors
Contributions to public GitHub projects are excluded from the calculation of active contributors, allowing you to engage community developers without increasing your subscription quantity.
