# Seats

Qlty Cloud licensing is based on **seats**. Your subscription includes a set number of seats, and you assign a seat to each contributor who needs access.

## Managing seats

The **Seat Management** page (Workspace Settings › Seat Management) shows:

* **Subscription quantity** — the number of seats included in your subscription.
* **Used seats** — seats currently assigned to contributors.
* **Unassigned seats remaining** — seats still available to assign.

Admins assign a seat to a contributor by entering their login (a user or bot), and can unassign a seat at any time to free it up.

## What requires a seat

A contributor needs a seat for Qlty to show:

* The in-app Pull Request **coverage view** in Qlty Cloud.
* Qlty's **analysis and coverage comments** on the Pull Request on GitHub.

If a Pull Request's author doesn't have a seat, Qlty hides those features for that Pull Request and prompts an admin to grant one.
